Our story
'Vana Rasa' means Forest Essence. The House of Vana Rasa is a niche luxury fragrance brand crafting limited-edition scents rooted in Asian botanical heritage and ceremonial rituals drawing inspiration from Ayurveda, Zhong Yi (Traditional Chinese medicine), yoga and Zen practices.
Our vision is to create a global luxury fragrance house that elevates Asian botanical heritage to the same status as French perfumery, crafting scents that are both objects of beauty and vessels of cultural memory carrying timeless traditions into a global luxury conversation.
Our history
I grew up immersed in a sensory world shaped by my Indian heritage. I watched my grandfather and father anoint themselves with fragrant waters and apply sandalwood paste to pressure points before the household altar - an act they said would help them focus, remain calm, and move through the day with purpose. My grandmother lit incense at dawn, tended to the tulsi (Indian basil), and wove fragrant jasmine into my hair for celebrations. The spices that infused every meal, the flowers, and the resins were more than scents; they were markers of identity, emotion and belonging.
